Somers Compton's love affair with improv began 12 years ago when watching long form shows at improv theaters in NYC and Chicago. When she founded the HIT with her husband, she decided to get out of the seats and onto the stage and fell in love with improv training. Not having a drive to perform, Somers's passion for improv education is purely for the personal connections that are made by doing it, and the personal development one can experience while taking improv classes.

Somers was a member of early HIT house team Gramps, and is a member of Poseidon's Trident. She hosts a monthly late night talk show at the theatre called the Happy Beautiful Goodnight Show. She has also help start and develop the HIT's Kidprov program as well as runs the business end of the HIT.
