We are a performing arts theater offering weekly long-form improvisational comedy shows. Based on a one-word suggestion from the audience, a hilarious and unrehearsed masterpiece will appear right before your eyes.

We offer improv classes for kids and adults.

The HIT is open Fridays 8-11pm and Saturdays 7-11pm. Shows are $5 per show or $10 for the entire night.

Character Level 2: Mondays, 7-10pm, June 10 - July 29, 2019

Class show: Friday, August 2, 7pm and Sunday, August 4, 7pm.

Prerequisite: Character Level 1

In this advanced character class, Character Level 1 improv graduates will deepen their improv skills, focusing primarily on characters and relationships. Focused study on building honest and believable characters through emotion and point-of-view. Class exercises are geared toward gaining confidence, making bold creative choices, and developing students’ own voices as improvisers. Graduates will be eligible to audition for character-based house teams, which perform monthly at the HIT.

Participation in both class shows AND attendance at at least 6/8 classes is REQUIRED in order to successfully complete the class. No exceptions.

Director of Education at the Harrisburg Improv Theatre with over 10 years of performing and teaching experience. EDUCATION: longform with Clark Nicholson (UCB graduate and Artistic Director of Gamut Theatre /TMI Improv in Harrisburg), HIT classes, People’s Improv Theatre in NYC. CREATOR & TEACHER: Dramatic Improv at HIT and Steel City Improv Theatre. CO-FOUNDER: No Artificial Sweeteners, an all-female improv team that performs for local charities. CO-DIRECTOR: The Kids You Read About in Textbooks, a devised theater project for Open Stage of Harrisburg. PERFORMER : Mary Todd Lincoln: The Real Babe-raham Lincoln, Ferret Prom, This Show Will Self-Destruct (all at HIT). COACH: Sangy & Dock (HIT)
